Homebrew [NDS] Forwarder CIAs for your HOME Menu

I've been trying to this up for 2 days and I just can't get it to work. My card is R4i-SDHC RTS. Everytime I try to open the forwarders it black screens and after about 3 seconds it says "An error has occurred, press the power button to turn of the system". What I might be doing wrong is the .DAT file placement- Where am I supposed to put it on my Flashcart microSD? Also, am I supposed to do something with the nds file the program generated? Thanks.

Oh one more thing: If I open YSmenu through the flashcart program and try to play a rom it says: "Unkown_DLDI_Type".

Is this flashcart supported or will it be in the next update? Because I made some forwarders for my ROMs and when I open it, it shows a "Failed to start YSMenu.nds" error.

OP needs more answers in FAQ section... Is it only for A9LH? Does it work with sysnand + luma3ds setup? What sysnand version are supported then? Do you need to install CIA to NAND or SD? Where do you put .dat file on R4 microSD exactly? Do you need generated .nds file for anything?

Just bought a DSTT and now trying to set it up.

I placed the files on a fat32 sd card and placed it into the DSTT (white version). After I put it into the 3ds, the trouble begins.

The boot icon is blank and when I try and load it from there it claims not a valid cart. I installed a TTDS stage2 launcher by Apache thunder and it is able to load. However it crashes when I tried to load any game from it.

Also when I try to click on a forwarder for one of the games (test game is ghost trick), it comes up with a not a valid cart please power down 3ds warning.

why is it throwing this error? Do I need to update the DSTT? should the card be fat16?

No it works with emuNAND pretty sure you have to install them to sysNAND as well for them to work.
It works with Luma3DS, it patches TWL_FIRM for you.
All sysNAND versions are supported as long as you can install CIA files on it.
Install to NAND (this is automatic with every installer except FBI 1.x)
Put .dat on the root.
You don't need the .nds files after generating the CIAs.

Thanks, I that was the problem I was having. I didn't put the .dat files onto the root of the card.

I'm am going to see if this will fix the Shantae Risky's revenge DSI game icon.

I own a Japan N3ds and for some reason the this game doesn't have any identifying information on the homemenu.

I'm trying to use this with pokemon conquest on a r4i SDHC, first the game didn't even started giving me error code -4 i found a pre patched rom i tried again now it starts but when i try to save it just can't it's not a freeze since the music keeps playing and the little eevee on the touch screen keeps jumping up and down anyway to fix this?

It's a problem with YSMenu. Might be related to the firmware in the flashcard. It can't be fixed.

Btw @Robz8 I figured out you don't actually have to press L+R+X+Y+A+B to see the actual YSMenu, L+R+Y+B is sufficient. Holding A will actually select the first entry in YSMenu.

Once the patch is released to make it run with the R4, would a M3 Simply also work? According to this very old thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/howto-ysmenu-on-m3-ds-simply.146856/ it's possible to run YSMenu on the M3 Simply that's why I ask. I do have an old M3 Simply lying around which I might be able to use then as my AceKard2i is obviously not compatible :o

That would work, because in DSi Mode, the Original R4 can be read directly.

Yep that is definitely do able. In fact, I believe ahezard made a recent change to hbmenu that allows toggling between R4 and SD. (you just have to make sure to use correct DLDI on SRL before building CIA of it)

There is no file management features added yet though. But a file browser can be made to transfer files to/from the R4 in DSi mode.

I am 99.9% sure it is, the M3 Simply I mentioned atleast, the M3 Real and isn't.

No the M3 Simply doesn't support SDHC cards, its maximum-size is 4gb if I remember correctly and if my memory doesn't deceive me you were actually able to run a patched R4 kernel on it but my memory on that part is hazy. All I remember that a friend and I were pretty distraught when some games didn't work on the M3 Simply Kernel which we fixed by running the R4 kernel but I may remember wrong as this is almost 10 years ago now

microSD is only up to 2GB so you're probably not remembering correctly.

Sorry for the triple-post but after my test my M3 Simply bit the dust It won't read any SD cards anymore, not even the old 2gb one or a 512mb one, I guess I have to buy a new card now anyway for that unless some miracle with an Acekard2i happens
