If you're running windows then just look for "configure java" and look at about.

Oh and great job with updating and fixing the bugs with the forwarder! Much appreciated!

I used this program to add pokemon heartgold to my 3ds, but there are some issues.
Soft resetting will crash the 3ds
Certain scenarios cause the game to softlock
    Game freezes completely randomly
I’m not sure if this is an error on my part or if heartgold isnt meant to be played this way but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've played HeartGold and SoulSilver for hours without encountering any crashes. Maybe once the character sprite started glitching right after saving, but that's it.

    What scenerios softlocks your 3ds?

Whether HeartGold is meant to be played this way is a bit philosophical. I guess it was meant to be played on a cartridge on a DS/DSi.

Entering trainer battles and being spotted are the main ones. After entering the battle, the pokeballs indicating how many each trainer has dont show up and the game softlocks. The other is when a trainer spots me but doesnt walk up to me or a textbox doesnt show up, then the game softlocks, and this is all usually after a few minutes of playing. I save before every battle though because im a sore loser so the softlocks arent a big deal, its just annoying to reboot.

Hmm I see. Interesting. As I said I've never had any softlocks like that. Even when the sprite was glitching I had no problem moving around. Are you using latest stable version of ndsbootstrap 0.28.1? You could try to replace all your Twilight files and sd card forwarder files.

Also it almost sounds like you're being hit with the Anti-piracy stuff so maybe your rom isn't AP patched automatically for some reason. You might wanna check your rom up against the nointro checksums online to see if it's a good dump.

Are you using any cheats or is it a romhack?

I see. I believe the latest cia forwarder maker pack has the latest stable ndsbootstrap but that would anyways be the first thing I would check. The only way I can think of is either to see if any of the .inis on your sd card under _nds has this info in them, if not you can install twilightmenu++ and see the version in settings. You don't need an already patched game if your rom is good.
Here is a list of good and bad dumps and their checksums. Use a checksum program(generator to compare your rom with these. 7z calculates checksums.

I am trying to open this jar file on windows 10 with the most recent java version installed, but a command terminal comes up, instantly closes, and then nothing else happens. What's happening and how can I fix it?

    Great tool! Thank you!
Is there a way to replace The icon and banner / 3d model that are shown in the 3DS' menu?

Alright, after updating JAVA on my X64 Win7 oldy pc it works.

    Great Tool.

    Question though:

Is it possible to boot into widescreengames without having to reset the to the Twilight menu loader ?
(Maybe some option I have not yet figured out ?)

Try searching through the thread since I remember someone posting that they figured out how to do it.

*Phew*... what a goosechase... (though I could limit the page number by searching from the 08/2018 onward only)

    RESULTS:

Hi guys... just wanna share something ive found a way on how to make your forwader games play on widescreen on 3ds.... first you need to have twilight menu with widescreen active... then on TWLmenu settings turn on last played rom on startup, then play any game on widescreen then exit.... after that go to fbi>titles> then delete twilight menu++ Last run rom.... then the next time you go to twilight menu it will crash or glitch... the next time you boot your twilight menu gui it will be on widescreen and also all your forwarder nds games also your nds cart games will be widescreen... but not all games will boot some will get the screen software closed...ive try it on my 3 3ds and all the same result.... just dont blame me if anything goes wrong on your 3ds ... sorry for my bad english... thanks
    [Solution ?]

Great detective work! In case you manage to get this to work OP should consider threadmarking this post.

    EDIT:

    IT. ACTUALLY WORKS.

TWILIGHT Menu ++ will crash, displaying some number colons on the right side of the screen,
just hold the 3DS's power button till it powers off, then turn on the 3DS again and
*boom* suddenly your 3DS games are in widescreen.

And here is the crazy part:
This stretches TWILIGHT Menu++ itself to wide, and EVEN GAMES that didn't even previously work for me.

I used kh 358/2 for the "play a game in wide" part.

    crazy.

Someone sticky that mans post, make a new thread, whatever.
(I'm considering sending this to rob.. but seein as how he didn't really seem to keen to implement this at all when I asked him via email..)
