That might be, but why would they write that in the first case, when the specifics are long known from the EU version. I say you're trying to be funny

Yeah well, we posted at the same time...

Lol, now I see it too, THE EXACT PICTURE posted above!

They must have some web cluster running, some with the wrong information.

That doesn't say Java, it says Javascript. Java and Javascript are completely different and unrelated to each other.

The browser has to have Javascript. Very few web pages will work without it these days.

Is this debate STILL going on?!?

No Flash, no Java. Get over it already. And yes, JavaScript and pure Java are two completely different things.

All these places that state that it does have Flash and Java seem to have all copy/pasted from the same misinformed source.....wherever that may have been.

The absolute BEST we could possibly hope for is some speed improvements over the Jap/Euro releases, but I wouldn't count on it.

A fully functional JRE wouldn't run on DS, I guess they could make a cut down one like what they use for mobiles, but then what use would that be for web browsing.

Heh, in many interviews, Opera's developers explicitely stated that there WILL be Flash support in the US version of the browser. They even said it is going to be version 7.

However, looks like things didn't work out (expected, to be honest) and they eventually dropped it.

I think they just copy/pasted the usual Opera generic cross-platform promo material, which by default includes "Flash and Java support". Then they saw the mistake, and edited it accordingly
