nds-bootstrap:

Thanks to the work of ahezard, Gericom, Apache, Robz8, _catcatcat, and shutterbug2000 and other contributors, we can now load NDS games from the SD card, without any flashcard/SLOT-1 card.

Don't expect high compatibility, but do expect many, many updates.

It already works with most games tbh. Probably just bug fixes and compatibility tweaks.

WPA1/2 support is planned (https://github.com/ahezard/nds-bootstrap/issues/628), as well as DSi mode in DSi-Enhanced games, and Slot-2 emulation for apps such as DS Browser.

Downloaded the latest version using the updater on my original 3ds all games now freeze at loading on a white screen. Reverting back to the previous version fixes the issue. So not sure what is happening with latest version.


Edit all now working had to totally delete the _NDS folder then copy a new copy of it over.

Edit 2 goes back to white screening as soon as I redownload cheats with the updater.

I'm not the only one with this issue as Robz8 as added this to the realese notes.

• If no cheat is enabled, then nds-bootstrap will crash on white screens, before the game boots.
  The only way to avoid this bug, is to revert to v8.2.0.

• The size of `sd:/_nds/nds-bootstrap/cheatData.bin` is now checked before being loaded.
  Should slightly speed up the file loading, in case if it's small.
