Hey everybody. As you may already know, I recently joined the Magazine Staff here at GBAtemp, and one thing I've already started to struggle with is figuring out what news is worthy of our portal. From Japanese game announcements that may never be localized, to gameplay details revealed for some games, to smaller indie game announcements for the PS4 or otherwise, there is a lot of little news that I don't necessarily see fit to post on the portal for various reasons. To remedy that and make things a little bit easier, I'm starting a biweekly news roundup where I collect bits and pieces of news from around the web and my GBAtemp inbox to compile a list of various news that may appeal to you.

This is currently set to be a twice a week feature covering the following time periods:
Saturday evening through Wednesday afternoon (PST)
Wednesday evening through Saturday afternoon (PST)

Although this first edition does just cover Sunday, July 26th through Wednesday afternoon, July 29th.

The format may change in the coming weeks as I figure out what works best, but just bear with me. Most importantly, enjoy the news!

    Game Announcements

New Tri-Ace and Spike Chunsoft RPG

In this week's issue of Famitsu, the new Tri-Ace/Spike Chunsoft RPG was revealed. Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky is an upcoming side-view RPG for the PS4 and Vita. Check out the source for a bundle of gameplay details. Exist Archive is set to release in 2015 for Japan.

Although the NX versions of both X and XI were thought to be confirmed after the conference, Square Enix has clarified both to Japanese and English sources that they are only under consideration at this time.

    Dragon Quest Builders Trailer

It's been a busy month for Dragon Quest, and although I've reported two other bits in here, I'm not done yet. In case you missed it, there was a new Dragon Quest Builders trailer. It's looking pretty good for what is, on a basic level, a Minecraft clone, and the seemingly little to no text makes a western release seem very likely. The game is set to release in Japan this Winter for PS3/PS4/Vita.

I hope you don't close these threads, although that is a lot to talk about in one thread. To be fair, we can just go to the threads if you do.
    Good job!

Never mind. I don't know why I thought all these links actually link to already made threads.

I really think this is a cool idea, nice job! One thing I would add, is the August Games With Gold for Xbox, since you have the PS+ free games listed, but not those.

I figure people can just bring up talking points as they want to, as a lot of what I shared wouldn't generate much discussion on its own. If a news post like this gets dominated by talk about only one or two mentioned pieces, that's okay. I'm not looking for equal representation of every news piece, but rather, just to inform people of things going on that wouldn't necessarily warrant their own full portal post. The main goal is to present more news without flooding the portal.

I probably won't do a ton of editing of these pieces after I post them, but I will for this since it is only fair to represent both Microsoft and Sony equally in this regard.

Good, glad they're using the good port of Grandia 2 and not that horribly botched PC port back in 2002 *shudder*

Sorta like "GBATemp Daily Fix". :P

Huh, didn't know that Mario Maker will have 99 amiibo costumes which will be able to be unlocked without the actual amiibos. That's pretty cool of Nintendo to not charge extra for the darn physical DLC. Still, ain't got any interest for Mario Maker.

    Keep it up, Drake! :)

Pictures say more than words. You should include pictures to every title you write. Else your article seems kinda boring.

We'll keep that remark in mind. The main concern is that if we add pictures, the next point will be that it needs to be for every game, and with that slippery slope, the amount of pictures needed for the amount of content he's doing here will make it pretty tough for users on slow internet connections. We'll continue to observe and see whether more people share these sentiments. Thanks again for your feedback!

One solutions would be how about one bigish image that is a collection of images relating to the news rather than multiple images? Just a thought (and add the gbatemp logo)

That can potentially get messy quick. I'm not even sure how well that will play out, but again I'll keep the point in consideration and see if we can come to a compromise.

Well not overly big just like
    https://gbatemp.net/threads/ready-fight….393821/

One image would be the gbatemp logo and the other a collection of other images relating to the news .
Or would using a spoiler tag with the image help?

Spoilering the image won't do favors, because the complaint from above would still apply - the article looks "boring."

Hmm well I guess it's basically the battle between it not looking boring but at the time not looking overly complicated.
I guess to an option would be using smaller images on the side and not using one for all news but alternating.
Either way I'm sure you will find a solution

For those that want to see images, please mention what you would like to see in as much detail as you can muster. Keep in mind that a major goal of this piece is delivering news in a clean and concise fashion, and too many images does pose the risk of running counter to that goal.
