Hacking NAND Restore Question

Can I use BootMii to restore a NAND backup of my Wii to a foreign Wii? My Wii is a LU32 whereas my friend's Wii is a LU60.

I just want to make sure that this is possible before I attempt to do this.

Yes you can but it won't work right away. You need to use a program called Betwiin. Here is a link for more information about Betwiin.

It doesn't work. The reason for that is every NAND has its own ID, and if you try to install a foreign NAND on a Wii, BootMii will automatically detect that the IDs don't match.

I tried this to fix my bricked Wii, but it didn't work.

ignore this guy, listen to the guy above him: Use betwiin to convert the dump and it'll work fine (this guy is kinda right, in that BootMii wont let you restore a dump from a different wii, but it can be converted to your wii.)

Actually, that's the function of Betwiin: change the NAND keys the dump has with those of the bricked console by re-encrypting the contents. It REALLY does work, only if you know how to use it.

use this guide i have used it, it works perfect basically you have a good nand you cut the keys out witha a hex editor you copy and paste 2 parts of the keys into nand-keys and nand-hmac you run betwiin which gives you a new nand and you then copy and paste your own wiis keys into the new nand. first intall bootmii and find out what boot version your wii is ie boot 1b boot2v2, sounds complicated but it is really piss easy and i did`nt have a clue about hex-editors before honestly anyone with half a brain could do it

Can u explain what it does, what is the preparation before doing the bat.

-Just need to install in that orther: (links on word document)

-Unrar pack on C:\betwiin
-On C:\betwiin\nand1.bin a copy of a source wii
-On C:\betwiin\nand2.bin a copy of your bricked wii (target)
-Now run "Auto nand.bat"
-After 30min aprox you will have the final nand.bin on c:\betwiin\output\nand.bin
