Nagoshi promoted in Sega reshuffle
Posted by Nathan Brown on February 29th, 2012

Yakuza and Super Monkey Ball creator Toshihiro Nagoshi has been promoted to chief creative officer at Sega.

Nagoshi, 46, was previously senior creative officer and general manager of Sega’s R&D Division 3. He has also been appointed to the company’s board of directors in a management reshuffle prompted by the retirement of Okitane Usui, formerly president, representative director and chief operating officer.

Nagoshi is an intimidating figure, just one look can make anyone promote him and it happened.

Anyone bold enough to market their game as something that all living men should play deserves some respect.

Does this mean good Sonic games now?

That joke is so 2010.

But no, seriously, maybe a fresh head will prompt new decisions that will improve Sega titles overall. It's probably wishful thinking though, as I don't know exactly what kind of weight his position carries.
