A firmware update for the R4/M3 Simply clone, the N5, has been released.
Apparently issues with NDS #2826 (Ener-G Gym Rockets - USA) and NDS #2838 (Cid to Chocobo no Fushigi na Dungeon: Toki Wasure no Meikyuu DS+ - Japan) havebeen fixed.

Is there any way we can make this work on an R4DS?

I doubt the R4 will ever be updated now, and it is severely outdated technology anyway. The TTDS is only $11.95 delivered on DX and does everything the R4 does as well as supporting more games and supporting SDHC, why not upgrade?

I don't have money right now and if N5 is a clone of R4ds there should be a way to use n5 firmware on R4.

    You messed it up - it's N5DS, not N4DS.

Yes, your link to the N5 website says N4DS.

no it does not work on M3 or R4, and there is no hack for it to work on it. Just toss them out/sell them and spend $10-60 including shipping on a new one

Its kinda suprising how N5 is updating the firmware, they had been know to destroy ds fuses.

Wherever the next link takes me.
I don't see why anybody would want an N5 seeing as what it does to the DS.

I say just buy an itouchds. May be a little more expensive than the others and kinda flimsy but with the later firmwares its pretty damn good for a low cost cart.

Yes, but the actual update is stored in another file that the R4 cant use so it would be same as using normal r4 firmware

It's just not worth the 11.95 for me personally. My R4 has worked fine with every game I've tried and I only want one or two games on there at once. [IMG]

That's a link to the U2 DS, which is just an R4 clone with YSMenu on it by default. Yasu has expressed concern over this, please do not buy it. The link to the DSTT is on that page for the same price, go for that instead if you're THAT strapped for cash.

Apparently it blows the fuses. I got stuck with a N5 after ordering a R4 from Divineo, everything that came with it says R4. Guess I learned the hard lesson. I almost got the itouch DS. Which I might still get. But it's nice to see someone is updating their software. Unlike my G6 lite which hasn't had an update in months.
