I recently modded my N3DS XL from a 4-pin JST to a 6-pin MicroJST,All DAT lines except DAT3 is being used, I also notice slow read speeds of about 2.1Mbp/s I should be getting 5.5Mbp/s, Im using a Transcend TS-RDP8K
3DS wiring

I've checked for any touching wires but none, I get the default Bootrom error 200, each wire is coloured coded for, Black(GND), Red(CLK), Yellow(CMD), Green(DAT0), Blue(DAT1), White(DAT2)

Is your makeshift SD missing the lock switch?
If its missing, it won't push the contacts together in the SD reader and enable writing...

Also, your pictures are broken... use a different host... like imgur.

And I also think that you either use ALL DATs, or only DAT0, don't skip DAT3.

And, as above, if the small piece is missing, it's the same as being READ only. Put some tape around the FrankenSD to ilude it.

Its soldered directly to the sd card port with a switch to toggle the write, I have fixed this by soldering to the MicroSD port , requires a dud MicroSD to be inserted
