Wait, these are on the serial numbers? I need to know what these QW and numbers mean.
This means you can find 9.0 or 9.2 N3DS XL by looking at the serial numbers on the box of unused N3DS XL.

I think in smaller Canadian towns, there are plenty of these exploitable N3DS, just like right now there are so many brand new Canada version of OOT.

If you find extra you don't use, would you mind helping us getting them for retail price + tax + shipping?

I saw a couple that were potentially exploitable at a Wal-Mart near me not too long ago. If I stop by and they're still there I can get you one.

Something else. But this isn't the thread for this. It's not a huge issue. I just wanted to dump a DSiWare title from EmuNand and install on my SysNand.
Yes they are serial numbers in the actual Box of the 3DS.
You can ask the seller to let you take a peek at the box to see the serial number and, if it matches one from the list of exploitable ones, then buy it.

I did so with my Black N3DS XL and I got a sure 9.0.0U firmware like the list said.

Hey Guys, I bought a "Brand New" n3ds from ebay with the serial YEM1009, but its firmware is 9.6.0-24E, is the seller lying about its condition? Has there been any other cases of 1009s being 9.6?

I personally believe you just a mistake. You should NEVER buy "New" products online. If you want a "New" 3DS, why didn't you just go to GameStop, or any other store? You stated you are skeptical of this purchase. But, think about this; the seller isn't capable of knowing the Firmware unless said seller opened the console at some point to check it; thus not new anymore. So, I believe you're about to receive a console not in a exploitable version.

Does it has the Tomodachi Life demo when you first turn it on? If not, its' definitely used and updated. Return it.

Not true. You can check with seller about serial numbers which this thread helps you to determine the firmware. Then you ask seller about the condition of the system (new or ever opened). If it was ever opened seller need to let you know the firmware. You bought based on that agreement. If seller lied, you have a case.

Well that is because I wanted a Black small n3ds with 9.0, however the black small n3ds just came out in Australia, meaning I would have to import it.
The Economy in Australia is completely broken (intentionally by the treasurer to boost export profits) so I would be paying double to import one from most european countries, I saw one listed from Italy so I grabbed it, since the price was on par. Plus since its ebay, I always have the option of disputing and/or refund, since ebay hates sellers :P

There really isn't any point buying new products online; either way. If you really want something in the common man's city, just go out and buy it. It costs more, but much more convenient than waiting days and weeks on a skeptical seller to ( possibly ) send a " NEW " device to someone. It's all big risks with money-greedy online scamming scum-bags. I can't even make a list of how many times i've been ripped of money from online sellers from eBay. It's ridculous.

It's all good in an ideal world. In reality, it's not easy like that. Where I live, I only ever saw N3DS XL with exploitable serial once at a pawn shop and it was already updated! Never saw CN and OOT anywhere. I had to order used OOT at OOT retail price from Amazon for my nephew.
