Hacking N3DS 8.1.0-0J with Gateway to rxtools possible?

I already have gateway fully installed and working in emunand with mset installed, and i think i want to move to rxtools. since i have mset installed, how safe is it for me to just change the boot to rxtools'? is that even possible to begin with? i don't want to brick my 3ds...

Ninjahax 2.0 works the same way theme hacks works and it's not available on 8.1.

I have found a few methods to update and will release the easiest one soon

Anyone have a sky3ds and want to test it out? I don't have all the software that worked but can point you in the right direction for the first half

Can't you just install the New3DS 9.0 browser on sysnand though? I know we can install lower version browsers (on O3DS) but I'm not sure about installing a 9.0 browser on an 8.1 system.

Apparently it just crashes. I wonder what happens if you install a pre-8.1 non-new 3DS browser? Can anything even be done with older browsers, I'm not sure

Will Sky3DS be required for the final method? I have 8.1j n3DS and OoT if that's of any use for testing. As well as a gateway.
