Android mytouch 4g portable wi-fi hotspot

so im currently stuck with my mytouch 4g's wifi because the wifi i was"borrowing" from my neighbors is gone.
currently the mytouch download speed is 16kb/s how can i speed this up so i can play online with my ps3 without lag.

If you're running via hotspot from your mobile phone, you'd want to make sure that your phone is able to connect to your mobile network with ease for maximum speeds. If it can't fully access your mobile network, you'd be instead stuck with speeds at "E" (2G) instead of 3G or H, or in some cases 4G, due to bad reception.
