Mysterious GamePro magazine Mario 64 Ad.

Does anyone remember an ad in GamePro magazine that showed mario swimming towards a submarine under water. It was the same one that showed up in mario 64 I believe, forget the level, but it was docked. The submarine in the ad, I think, was underwater.
I remember this nostolgic ad about part of a mario I never witnessed. I believe I asked this somewhere else before, and I got the answer of Japanese Mario 64.
This still haunts me. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Dire, Dire Docks was the level's name, I believe.

Was unable to find anything on what you're asking though... I googled "Mario 64 beta" and couldn't find anything resembling Dire, Dire Docks.
