after a theme has installed you should either return to the system menu or reset the wii to see the health screen

I think just having it exit to the HBC if launched from the HBC or exit to the SM if launched via a forwarder channel is good enough. This is theming we're talking about, there's no need for a "return to channel" feature... I mean, there's nothing wrong with having it, but I think it's extra and not going to be used much if at all.

edit: I also think a "reset" option is not required (but again it wouldn't hurt) because anyone wanting to reset their Wii can just use the WiiMote's power button

s\uneek is prolly the easiest\fastest\smartest way to test a theme, just go SD or USB:\title000001000002\content00000##.app and replace it with your csm file
where 000000##.app corresponds to your system menu version (see chart HERE for details)

can I get a link to download s\uneek? is it one or two different programs? thanks

doesn't matter what your real system menu firmware is, but your EMULATED firmware should be 4.2/4.3 cuz that's what has the SM hacks built in, u can put in the offsets for a different system menu manually but not worth the effort if u ask me

ok now I'm confused, how do I know what my emulated firmware is? where do I look? thanks

I'm assuming u are using ModMii to set up s\uneek. If so, your emulated firmware will be the firmware u tell modmii to build. If u already built an emulated nand, u can check what firmware is installed by launching s\uneek and going into the Wii Settings. Alternatively, u can load your emulated nand in showmiiwads' showmiinand view and see what version it is there. Or, if u really know ur shit like I do, u can just open up the folders on the emulated nand and be able to tell by the files inside it

basically, use ModMii to build an emulated nand, and read the instructions

again, your real nand could be 4.1U or 4.3E or 3.2J or ANYTHING, and u will be able to run any emulated nand on it.

So basically, go build yourself a 4.2U emulated nand, and don't worry about it if your real nand is something different.

yes I'll be using ModMii to set up Uneek, would this affect any of the Wii Themes for testing them out? I have both 4.1U and 4.3U SM, thanks for the explanation

u can swap the base 000000**.app file in your emulated nand with a csm file of your theme

the 000000**.app you want is found under title000000100000002\title\
where 000000**.app corresponds to your system menu version and would be the same .app file you would have used to build your csm file. A chart can be found here

edit: doing this will allow u to test themes for stability without any risk to any wii
