I believe Nintendo can do what you want them to if you provide a police report to them

you may also need the original proof of purchase receipt

I would agree with this, if you have the proper paperwork proving it was stolen then maybe Nintendo would do something to help you out. Although I don't think they are obligated to do anything.

You might be able to claim it though your insurance if Nintendo won't help.

Here's the info on Nintendo Sweden, maybe double check.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo has handled similar cases before by just transferring everything to a new device upon being shown a police report.

Sure, go ahead, call them and explain the situation. It should be fine.

Depending on your situation, filing a claim with insurance should be a step in this process too. If there is home owners insurance or renter's insurance, this type of loss is usually covered.

I believe what they generally do in these types of situations is to give you credit for all the purchases that were made. I am not sure what type of evidence they would seek first, but once you get the credit you should be free to download your purchases or go ahead and use it to buy different games at your discretion.

It is hard to say, Nintendo is by no means obligated to reimburse you in any ways.

Is that the only thing stolen, a Wii U?

And this is why PSN/XBL account system is still years ahead of Nintendo's one.
Lost your console? No problem! Just log in to your account and redownload all your games!.

No problem... well other than you have to buy a whole new console.

Wow, maybe there was something more useful to steal? JOKING, but could not help myself. Plenty of Nintendo haters on here might find that funny. Still waiting for Mario Kart, a Metroid game, and of course Zelda (new, although Windwaker HD does not seem horrible).
