Gaming my wii is invincible!!!

my wii had HB channel for a while. i remember one time i updated the firmware while it had HB channel on it, but nothing ever happened. recently, i got TvC, and it updated my wii while the HB channel was still on it. My wii isn't bricked and HB channel is still there. is this supposed to happen? if not should i sell my wii for over $1000

Your Wii is not invincible, and in most cases a system update will NOT brick your Wii. The reason that the HBC is still there is because the only f=system menu version to delete it is 4.2, and that is not the version on TvC.

rofl, nothing special about your Wii. Your TvC disc probably just updated some IOS or system menu. Only a 4.2 update deletes the Homebrew Channel (the old HBC with the Title ID HAXX). But there's no 4.2 system menu update on any disc yet.
