Hacking My SD card is formatted exfat (from OSX), but still won't allow me to add files larger than 4gb

I get the error in OSX trying to drag a large file onto it. I know it's exfat because my switch prompted for the update.

Yes, it's a better option to format it with Windows or directly with the switch.
At least from my experience using exFAT with macOS and Win and Switch.

I use fat32 and no problems here. Maybe Use a windows pc yes

formatted it with switch and move xci with windows, working just fine here.

I got it to work in Computer Management in Windows. Turns out there were some hidden partitions on the card from when I was running Linux.

Yea you have fat32 and can transfer files larger than 4gb

mac is fine if you're not a total noob.
Disk Utility -> select drive -> Erase -> Format: ExFat / Scheme: Master Boot Record
works flawlessly
