Why? In the past 24 hours, I have upgraded to the beta version of the latest version of freeshop, transferred files wirelessly from laptop to N3DS, cancelled a few transfers, enabled and disabled game patching through Luma, and I downgraded back to the stable version of freeshop.

    What do I do?

Sounds like a hardware problem to me.

Try to see if the battery is snug or not. Try inserting a thin cardboard or paper in the battery section. Sometimes it is just loose battery.

Lol wait for the 11.5 update. I heard that the details got leaked from Nintendo:
    System Update 11.5

Maybe that will stop it from shutting off randomly!

In an attempt to unscrew the bottom plate, it looks like I strepped the screws. My plate is stuck. When I get it unstuck, what would you reccomend as a temporary substitute for the plate, so my stylus and battery won't fall out?

    Substitute: Tape
I taped some paper on the side of my batter so that it would fit snugly and won't fall off, I also bought a lot of back plates for customization so I have extras. maybe the back plate is not stuck, pop the plate on the side once the you loosened the screws and you heard a popping sound and no matter how you loosen it anymore, it doesn't move. Or you can also watch youtube videos on how to remove the back plate.
