Homebrew My N2DSXL isn't detecting my flash cart

I used to own an older 3DS XL and I could put my flashcart in it fine. When I insert it into the slot, it gets highlighted in the menu (the icon used for booting from the cart) and I could use this app to boot the cart properly.
On my N2DSXL, however, my flashcart is apparently just not being detected at all. Is there an extra step needed to get flash carts detectable?
