Hardware My moms laptop doesnt turn on anymore

So this morning, my mom's laptop froze.
So she rebooted it, but since then, it wouldnt turn on anymore.
When i press the power button, it lights up, then i feel the cd drive working for half a second
But the screen doesnt turn on at all
Can someone help us please?
This lap is pretty new

have you tried connecting it to a display like a tv via HDMI or VGA? It could be a display issue

Get it RMA'd.
Laptops are a pain to fix.

 

[Mr. Wizard]

try removing the battery and turning it on without it.

try booting a rescue cd.

look for an external display/projector function button that someone may have pressed (could have disabled the main display).

attach to second monitor to test.

remove hard drive and again try to boot off cd.

remove ram and see if you can get a post error.

Not compatible hdmi and i dont have the wire for the other plug
