Hacking My icons inside a folder are thrown out after i switch hd sometimes, any way to fix?

Is there a reason why icons get thrown out of folders after swapping hd, got 300 games installed on diffrent usb storage devices and when i swap they got all over the menu again.
Question: How can i avoid that icons get thrown out of folders after hd swap.

Just don't mess with said folders while the HDD is not connected.

Also only put icons from one of the HDDs in each folder, they can't be shared between HDDs.
