Hacking My cousin just got a fake R4

Ok... Since everybody is a bit uninformed because of my absence, I'll fill you all in.

First of all, his dad went to China to visit his parents and see his old buddies over there. And he thought, while he was at China, he would get an R4. Yes, he is extremely paranoid about using his Credit Card anywhere except Retail stores.

Second.. Yes.. He certainly did rip up the DSL I gave him as a gift. :'(
He recently got a new Crimson/Black from his mom. (Spoiled little bast....

)

I don't know what to tell him except that his R4 is fake...
Some sources say that it's a MK5 clone.. I have never used MagicKeys before.. Neither N-Cards.
So will it still have good/decent Compatibility?

@iritegood: Yes, it is the same cousin.

Apparently, this is what the "R4" looks like. I found it on Google Images.

According to what PharaohsVizier said, it looks like an N-Card to me.


ADD: Oh.. Seems like I heard wrong. He's coming NEXT Friday. If I can, I'll take pics of the "R4", and it's GUI.

Pretty sure the DS Lite "dust cover" is actually how you write to the NCard, you have to connect the Slot-2 to your PC.

By your post, you mean Flash his DS and then brick it with one of Fader's Homebrew, right?

Anyway, messing around with brickers is still risky. Becareful and ensure you have a good command over the fields of recovering bricked DS's
