Hello to all GBAtemp!

In this thread I will publish some of my custom Single ROM Loaders (individual game loaders) of some of the best Wii homebrew emulators for some retro game consoles, all of them are made by me, saulfabreg (@SaulFabre).

I've started making some Single ROM Loaders (SRLs) for the best homebrew emulators made for the Nintendo Wii since i got so tired about incompatibility with some games with the default Virtual Console (VC) emulators but also some other great old game systems are not brought to Wii by Nintendo and I want to get my games run automatically in the emulators without having to go to the Homebrew Channel and access the emulator's menu (i just want to skip the emulator menu).

NOTES:

• The example arguments shown in the meta.xml file of each custom Single ROM Loader (SRL) are for demonstation only for tell the user how to configure correctly the arguments for load a ROM automatically on startup. So, for make autoboot a game in a SRL, you have to tell in the arguments in the meta.xml file about what is the path where is the ROM stored and the ROM file to load (or the complete path of the ROM file stored to load), and when it's required in the SRL, specify where will load a "configurations/settings" (config.cfg) file when the emulator starts.
• These custom Single ROM Loaders (SRLs) will also work when combined with the use of custom DOL forwarders (DOL file for load another DOL file) which has meta.xml arguments support, like @FIX94's Forwarder with meta.xml support, or custom DOL forwarders made with @XFlak's ModMii Forwarder Builder (which is based on @FIX94's forwarder), when injected into AHBPROT-enabled forwarder base WADs, which can be downloaded here in this link. • For running the SRLs in Dolphin, you will need the Open Homebrew Channel (OHBC, or The Homebrew Channel Open Source Edition) made by @FIX94, here's a link for download it: http://github.com/FIX94/hbc/releases
• Some homebrew emulators, such WiiMednafen, require the use of forwarder WADs built with @waninkoko's NAND Loader in order to work, otherwise it will throw code dump error / DSI exception, which is so annoying. (thanks to @XFlak for the help.)
• This thread will see several updates when I finish making my SRLs (Single ROM Loaders) of more homebrew emulators for Wii, but also when I update some of them.

NOTE: Even when this emulator is designed for run SEGA 32X/32X CD games, it still also can emulate SEGA Master System, SEGA Genesis / SEGA Mega Drive, Sega CD / Sega Mega CD games and Sega Pico games. Unlike the RA-HEXAECO version, Libretro version has more compatibility and also optimized a lot the performance of the emulated 32X games and others, so now most games are now running normally. Just remember that 32X emulation in Wii is still in progress.

What should I do when using Forwarder Channel?

if you want to use forwarder channels for these SRLs, you have to make a DOL forwarder (a DOL for load the emulator's DOL and read the meta.xml file) that points to the boot.dol and read the meta.xml file of the SRL's folder using @XFlak's ModMii tool, and then insert the resulting DOL in an AHBPROT-enabled homebrew base WAD using @Leathl's CustomizeMii tool. And according to this, the autoload meta.xml arguments for WiiSX RX are the following which theoretically should work on normal WiiSX RX (I can't test it right now) if you change the path accordingly since the boot.dol is identical with the same hash checksum and everything:

Well if that last part remains true no matter what, where I still have to physically reset the Wii U or Wii for a dedicated rom, I may as well just stick to just an emulator channel and not bother with individual games, as either way I have to go through the emulator UI before getting to play the game, and as things stand with the straight up emulator channel the controllers stay connected so I don't have to take the extra step of physically resetting the system. Convenience and user friendliness are top priorities for my setup lol.

If it's any consolation, I've been able to very much confirm that it's a bug with WiiSX RX:

EDIT 4: It's definitely a bug, and it occurs if using the nunchuck as well (though interestingly not if using a GameCube controller). Directly after autoboot and while the game is still running, if you unplug the nunchuck or classic controller without returning to the emulator menu, it turns out that the Wii remote by itself works. This implies that, when using WiiSX RX's autoboot function, it defaults to using the Wii remote by itself regardless of whether or not you have a nunchuck or classic controller plugged in, especially since you can replicate this exact same behavior if you launch a game without autoboot using only a Wii remote and then plug in a nunchuck or classic controller while the game is running without returning to the emulator menu.

Is it possible to convert a game with single rom loader to WAD?

Yes, by using WAD forwarders with DOL forwarders that point to the boot.dol file of the folder of the emulator or SRL you want to use. @XFlak's ModMii tool has this option for build DOL forwarders with meta.xml support, based in @FIX94's work.
