Hacking My brother got a new 3ds xl, best way to play backups?

I own a gateway, but his serial number (he hasnt opened it yet, is QW1081 so im guessing he is on a higher firmware, would he need a gateway 3ds or has anything new happened recently?

If his fw is less than 9.2 he can use GW or just install a cfw for free. Over 9.2, Sky3ds is your only option for 3ds roms.

We need to know the firmware in it.

If it's less or equal than 9.2 he can hack it and update games for free.

If it's above 9.2 the only thing be can do is buy a Sky3ds.

N3DSXL ? Probably over 9.2 then , if it's the case then use Sky3DS (even though it sucks but it's your only option)

i will be willing to bet that the n3ds in question is on 9.8
