So, i have a issue that i haven't seen asked here:

I had to format my 32gb card wich had my games, luma, b9s, etc... Of course that i made a copy of all the files, but when i stuffed everything back and plugged the SD card in my 3ds... nothing!

Of course, after many posts in this page i managed to reinstall B9S 1.3 and Luma 1.10 (my SD is formated according to the specifications) and my 3ds booted! but telling me that it doesn't regonize the SD card.

I even tried pluggin' the SD card with the original files and it says the exact same thing! I've tried with Luma 7.1 and B9S 1.2, the CWF starter pack, and even praying to the pirate gods but my 3ds still says 'f*k u'

Normal 3ds wich had instaled Luma, and b9s.

PD: I've follwed the guides of turdpoocharger... just in case

[FIXED] Make a quadruple format and try with the basic setup, it worked for me!

Try using a different SD card (or a different microSD adapter)

Yes, i forgot to say... i have the original SD card and another identical to that (32gb and same format) with luma 1.10 and B9S 1.3 (in wich i have tried almos everything recomended) so i've been working with 2 cards.

Maybe there's something wrong with the SD card reader in your 3DS or you're not formatting the card correctly

Well...
  • Format: FAT32
  • Cluster Size: 32 KB
  • Partition: Primary
  • Disk: MBR

Error in the reader? i want to expend ALL the options before start with the hardware.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

B9S is installed to the 3DS internally. It is not affected if anything happens to your SD card. Also, I presume you are referring to Luma 10.0.1 .

Oh, i didn't know about that with B9S... and yes, Luma 10.0.1, sorry.

Can you boot GodMode9 by holding (Start) while turning on? If so, try accessing the SD from GodMode9. See if that works…

If the SD is MBR/FAT32… and tested with h2test/F3/F3X and working with other devices and the 3DS still fails to read it, then – most likely – the console SD reader is to blame.

If you have another one: Try accessing the SD with another CFW 2|3DS.

What model 3ds is this? is this an SD card or a micro SD card in a reader? If it's a micro SD card and a reader are you using the same SD card reader To transfer files and with both cards in the 3ds?

First Model of 3ds that came out and it's a SanDisk SD card HC I 30mb/s, the same with the other one.

  • Format: FAT32
  • Cluster Size: 32 KB
  • Partition: Primary
  • Disk: MBR

What are you using to get this information?

In some cases it is possible for an SD card to have an extra partition, but if you've been using this SD card for a while, that's probably unlikely.

For good measure, have you tested this card with h2testw already? (You'll need to empty the card before you do that.)

Yes absolutely! and i'm sure that the cards have only 1 partition because i use MiniTool Partition Wizard to format my cards.

1. Are these standard sd cards or micro sd cards with adapters
2. Are you using an adapter to connect it with your computer
3. If you put a blank sd card in your 3ds what happens
PD: I've follwed the guides of turdpoocharger... just in case
I would like to see links to what you are referring to

I would like to see links to what you are referring to

1-Standard SD cards.
2-Yes, a USB adapter because the SD card port is damaged.
3-It doesn't boot, the blue light turns on and off.

I've had so many issues with tested-good cards I've lost track. The 3DS is really picky about not only the type of file system and cluster size but also where the partition is aligned on the drive. For example, if there's an unused gap at the start of the drive before the FAT32 partition it will often fail to read just because of that. It even seems random from one card to another.

This is what works for me without fail:

1. Manually delete all partitions on the card, format it to NTFS (this is necessary sometimes for exFAT drives).
2. Format it with guiformat.
3. If if still doesn't read, format the new partition (don't delete the one created by guiformat) to FAT32 / 32 KB clusters with Partition Wizard. There's also an option to convert from GPT to MBR or to rebuild MBR, though if you've already done step 1 it's not needed.

And just for good measure this is how you can manually check the filesystem and cluster size of any drive (because drive properties in Windows isn't always good for this):

Open a command prompt and type:

diskpart
list disk
select disk X
list partition
select partition X
filesystems

Change the bolded Xs to your drive and partition numbers listed in the output.

I read the second and third ones
Do you have a spare (different) SD card, like a 4 GB?

If you have another card, let's test for the most basic setup.
  1. Quadruple reformat that other SD card.
  2. Full Write + Verify the empty card with H2testw (windows) / F3X (mac) / F3 (linux).
    • As mentioned by the others, you want to check the card's hardware condition (ie, not fake or dying card).
    • Physically faulty card = bad time
  3. Delete the *.h2w test files if the card passes. If error was reported, replace the card and go back to step 1.
  4. Try different versions of Luma3DS placed on the root of the SD card.
    • sdmc:/boot.firm [ v7.1 / v9.1 / v10.0.1 ]
    • sdmc:/arm9loaderhax.bin [ v7.0.5 ]
    • Do not put back any other files at this moment.
  5. Turn on the 3DS and hold the (SELECT) button.
    • Do you see Luma3DS v#.# configuration at the bottom screen?
    • Does it say Booted from ( SD / CTRNAND ) via B9S ?
These will test whether you have:
  • A9LH custom firmware
  • B9S custom frmware (and possibly whether you have the really old B9S v1.0)
  • no custom firmware installed
  • the sd card reader is (not) working

Unfortunately no, all my remaining cards are 32GB, but when i boot the 3ds with the luma installer it shows Booted from ( SD / CTRNAND ) via B9S in the bottom left corner of the touchscreen, but it just continue to display the "i can't read the SD card bruh" message.
