A Wii version of Modern Warfare 3 launches alongside the already-announced PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version, publisher Activision has confirmed.

Publishing exec Eric Hirshberg made the announcement during an investor call today, explaining it's releasing the game on Nintendo's system "so as not to leave any of the community out of the excitement."

Hirshberg didn't reveal who is responsible for porting it over, though Treyarch was behind the Wii versions of both Black Ops and Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare 2 never made it to the system.

The latest entry in Activision's all conquering FPS series terrorises cash registers the world over from 8th November.

This is going to be the sub-standard version isn't it?

A.K.A the version that markets to the 12 year olds who are "hardcore" but can't buy a 360/PS3.

They must have money to waste if they're releasing this on the Wii.

Surprising as this may sound, from what I understand the Wii versions of CoD have rather solid sells.

I think I`ll try both, PS3 and Wii-version, though in the end I`ll be playing the Wii-version more, since I like the controls more but with my friends I`ll be playing on PS3.

Even though I like Zombie-mode more then SpecOps I kinda like BlackOps more then MW but we`ll see...

    Treyarch are developing this port:
    http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=158202

Expect a nicely done port, that is polished well and with better controls than consoles but with the game gutted a touch.

Should have done a side game just for the Wii/3DS, would have done better especially if they got Eurocom to do their magic like they did with GoldenEye.

Personally done with the franchise, seeing too many explosions over and over with dull dialogue and story kinda burned me out already.

WaW is actually the highest selling M-rated game for the system I'm pretty sure.

Some people actually prefer the Wii version for its controls (although they should be doing Move support now). Not many, but I've heard a few cases.

    How is it usually released?
REALLY? I'm seriously shocked, I never hear people who have CoD say good things about the Wii.

The Wii version of World at War sold more than a million copies. Just because Activision does not promote the Wii version (more like hides the damn thing till release day) does not mean that there isn't a Wii fan base for Call of Duty. Hell the Wii version of Black Ops got almost every perk of the HD versions. I think the Wii version was only missing DLC and Co-Op.

if you ask me or atleast tried the wii version..
besides hd, & option to use wiimote pointer or classic controller pro.
the only difference between wii versions modern warfare reflex & black ops was wii versions had no multiplayer/split screen/coop, & black ops only had 1 zombies map. other than that everything else was exactly same, soo if the wii versions marketed to kids then they all are not far from being marked for 12 year old kids.

this 20 year old persons gonna have his fun on modernwarfare 3 wii regardless. [IMG]

The graphics are usually pretty good actually for the Wii. They look like crap compared to the HD versions of the games but as a Wii title they look rather well off.

Who gives a flying frak about the graphics?! CoD on the Wii still plays better than the ones on the HD consoles so I'm already sold. I honestly could care less about HD graphics but I do care about good graphics within the limits of the console I'm playing with. As long as developers aren't being lazy and taking the time to use good art direction, I'm happy.
