3DS hit Mutant Mudds by indie studio Renegade Kid is heading towards the PC platform. It'll be released on GoG, Gamersgate & Desura on August 30th for $7.99 (then $9.99 from September 5th)
Sadly it won't be on Steam as the game was rejected by Valve, despite the fact that Valve has accepted pure pieces of shovelware crap on the service. However many games have been rejected in the past only to be suddenly approved later on. All Valve said to RK was "Steam was not a good fit for distribution". :wtf:

The PC version will also feature new levels

Steam will now distribute non-gaming software but will not distribute one of the biggest hits on the Nintendo eShop?

    That's odd.

Mutant Mudds is a great game. If you don't have a 3DS, get this.

I won't be buying this as I consider the 3D effect to be one of the best things about the game.

    ERROR!
I wonder if the sequel will do the same thing, being released on the eShop and then on PC later.

The blur effect is annoying though imo, prefer the sharper look of the 3DS version.

Where's the source about why it's not on steam?

Sure, it's not coming to Steam... but there are at least 3 alternatives, so it isn't so bad.

Valve just doesn't want to track mud across its shiny distribution service.

New levels in the PC version means the PC version would be a better buy, tbh.

agreed, but it isn't impossible for the extra levels to come as dlc for the 3ds
