Mugen is a dead open fighting system. It was never lifted beyond poor graphics and a loosely cohesive community. You can still find the files and in some cases complete packages but it is so much of a hassle that it is not worth the effort. The only hope is if someone does all of the work for you.

i hope linux would be able to run this mugen http://youtube.com/watch?v=yC0w3NqfwE0

Pointless, it's either Mugen natively or no Mugen at all. Getting rather bored of using Linux as a framework to run a bunch of applications instead of just tweaking them and porting them natively to the Wii, which no doubt would offer performance boosts.

Not sure if this gonna work, but someone can try and give us a feeback if it work or not. I notice that this post is kind of old, but I just knew mugen today so I'll share my idea. Like I say, I'm not sure if it gonna work and if you ask why i didn't test is because I only use my 15min break from work to tell you. I'm a busy man.

1. Have wii install linux on wii.
2. Make sure mugen that you want to run is in wii linux drive/sd.
3. Use the wii linux to go online and download the software call "WINE". This program will alow linux to run windows application. http://www.winehq.org/

As you may think about this; you may or may not required a gamecube controller and a keyboard plug in the wii. Just to configure the joy input.

I just got the mortal kombat 4.7 project and it was great. if someone able to try this method and give us a feeback, i would really be appreciated and joy for the rest of my workday.

I don't think this would even begin to work. IIRC Wine doesn't emulate the x86 architecture, and the Wii uses a PowerPC processor, so...

MUGEN was also made for linux by elecbyte at the time was it not? Actually scratch that, why anybody would want to punish themselves with that garbage known as MUGEN these days are beyond me.

So here might be some good news Airkado has ported Allegro 4.2.3 to the Wii. MUGEN is written in Allegro I believe so now maybe someone can compile MUGEN for WII. I don't know how or I would do it myself. Hope to see WIIMUGEN in the future.

Here's the google code page

Don't understand the hate towards Mugen. If u like fighting games why wouldnt u want Mugen on wii? Marvel vs Capcom is nothing compared to having over 1200 fighting game characters to pick from.
