Gaming MSN type homebrew?

I'm tired of constantly refreshing the page on ebuddy because it takes to damn long for it to reload itself, thus making me miss messages, and the ones i type will be irrelevant to what is said. So any good homebrews?

There's AFKIM, but it's not a "real" MSN, as it's based on bitlbee (which is an IRC relay to various Messaging systems). Dunno about others :/
