I have movie in AVI format that I really want to put on my PSP. The problem is that movie is in French (Persepolis) and I have subtitles in srt format. Is there any way to convert it to mp4 so I can watch it on my PSP?
Thanx.

One of the programs created by the people who made CloneCD also made a program that is used for hard coding subtitles into the video.

Think it was called CloneDVD Mobile?

I could have sworn the MP4 container had softsub support ( http://www.videohelp.com/tools/YAMB mp4 is useless to me though compared to alternatives so I am afraid I do not play with it much) but if you want to hardsub the video the chances are you will have to re-encode the stream and probably drop quality.

Ways to do that. Avisynth/virtualdub and VSFilter: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VSFilter_DirectVobSub
From there is basic encoding.
