An Easter Egg I will never forget was on Super Mario RPG, which was my first SNES RPG I played when I was 8 years old.

The 8-bit Mario on Booster's Tower!

In Super Mario Brothers 3 on the Nintendo, crouching on the white bar near the end of the level allowed you to fall behind the scenery and collect a peewhistle!
Combine that with the rock breaking off the map in the second world and you could double peewhistle to the last world after only 20 mins of playtime.

    Saved me load of time.

Silent Hill 2's "There was a hole here" egg. I don't know, its just the one I enjoyed the most out of all the ones I've seen.

Banjo Kazooie's "stop 'n swop"... I've wondered about its purpose for a long time when I didn't have a PC ^_^

Halo Combat Evolved, the Food Nipple Grunt. The thing is just so damn funny XD

Also, on the same level, if you beat it on Legendary you get an alternate ending that's funnier than the first. I don't think that really counts as an easter egg though.

Now I've worked up a big grunty thirst.

JUSTIN BAILEY is not a Who, the password should be read as JUST IN BAILEY and refers to the swimsuit Samus wears when the password is used (Bailey), Mistery solved

Now on topic: I loved in my SNES times in Super Mario RPG when you could turn yourself into 8-bits Mario if you go behind a curtain in Booster's tower, the Axem Rangers mocking about the Power Rangers, Link and Samus sleeping in the INN, Goro and Falcon from F-Zero and an Airwing from Starfox in Hinopio's house and the reference to Donkey Kong when you have to climb avoiding barrels thrown by a Gorilla at the top.

One favorite that I have kept in the back of my mind for many years is the old school arcade Space Invaders Deluxe where if you are able to leave the bottom left invader through the entire battle and shoot it *last* you get a cool rainbow shooting upward effect between levels and an extra 1000 point bonus. I was never able to accomplish this myself, but I watched a friend of mine do this on a SID machine in an arcade many years ago. It was quite an achievement and very cool to watch in person.

    All the Starfox easter eggs!
In Stunt Race FX and Zelda OOT (via hack)
I might have to include the Bowser pendant on Malon in Zelda OOT but Starfox ones definitely.

Actually maybe the chaos in F-zero GX and the obscure Sega and Nintendo refrences but thats just a favorite game.

I used to laugh really hard at this; keep in mind I was 11 or so. After beating the game, I went to go use cheats, and tried everything. The only thing that resulted in different gameplay was playing with Green Goblin, who had no cutscenes. It's funny what devs decide to leave in sometimes.

My favourite easter egg is probably the secret screen on Adventure Time: Hey Ice King Why'd You Steal Our Garbage that could only be accessible via entering the Konami code on the Start Screen.
It was the first time I'd encountered the Konami code in YEARS! It was really funny and awesome that they brought that back.

I don't know why, but I always felt strongly about the older Megaman easter eggs showing up in the background of the Battle Network games. Maybe it's a lot more feels now since the Megaman franchise has been forgotten :(

That would be the pizza code mystery ARG included in Black Mesa (a brilliant fan remake of Half-Life using the source engine).

It's a complex puzzle hidden in the game which the community is still trying to solve since the release of the mod last September. It started with mysterious clues on whiteboards, pizzas and "The Pizza is a LIE!" messages found in various places throughout the game. But the community soon discovered that there was much more behind it than just being a simple easter egg. There is also an interesting in-game background story linked to this.
Apparently even most of the developers had no idea about this ARG as the hints are only found in chapters created by the developer Stormseeker, who seems to be the mastermind behind all this. They were as surprised as the community :D

    Also loving the cans: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=97141744
