That orchestra proves how big of a factor musical scores play in media, video games included. Even though you may not always notice it, the music always plays a role in the mood of the game, and is one of its main identifying features. You hear the music and Zelda pops right into your head; that's the sign of a good musical score. So often, especially in video games, the score is thrown in as an extra thought, not given near the amount of care it should. In my opinion, the score is what separates a good game from a great one. Zelda proves this, and the Uncharted series is another great example. That's one of the reason I love those games so much.

Going back to the first video, the game looks to be running great. It looks a lot smoother than the original did, as you would expect. Graphics look fine. I'll hold off on judgment in that category until I can actually see the game running in full 3D, because that's how it was meant to be played. Honestly I don't really care if the graphics are good or not, as long as they're on par with the original. I'm more concerned with improving the controls, especially in the Water Temple. Since it looks like they've done that, I'm pretty happy!

Heh soothing.....Makes me glad I played flute for a few years

And the remake looks fateful enough......guess its really hard to improve upon what many consider the best game ever created.....

Can't wait to play OoT

I can't wait! I didn't play the original so this will be a totally new experience for me.

I wonder if we'll ever see a 3DS emulator (without the 3D, of course), because I'd love to see what HD textures do with this game (look at Minecraft HD texture packs). Also, the orchestra... fuck, I'd love to hear that live!

Looking very nice.
I think I will definitely pick this one up as I never owned the original.
Too bad it's not a launch title... *sigh*

WHAT are you doing man?

Do yourself a favor and buy it NAO.
Because everyone owns an N64. /sarcasm
Plus I'd say newcomers(myself included) would be better off playing the better looking, less glitchy(?) 3DS version than the N64 one.

Good point...

My point is you can get a complete N64 + grey OoT cart for under 35 bucks. Cheaper than OoT 3D, and it expands your game library to play some of the other great classics.

Hell, if he has a Wii he could even buy it on VC. I am just saying anybody who has not played it seems to really be missing out.

You're right though, the first time experiencing it IS the best. If you guys wanna wait that is fine.

I understand.

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling

even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
will just take some time for games made using those things to be completed and released
