Hey guys-

I'm using Moonshell with an M3 Simply. To my knowledge, the program runs fine, but I can't seem to get the skins to work. Originally I grabbed the files and installed it myself, but since the skin didn't show the stock bluemoon skin I ended up reinstalling by just doing the easy install (unzip and dump onto the root).

I know that to skin moonshell you have to put the skins into the 'skin' directory (where the c_file etc are), but I can't even get the stock skin to load up right after installation! What's going on?

Those lines on the screen are from the actual wallpaper that's showing up. Where the heck is that desktop coming from anyway?

And since I have the pictures up, can someone tell me if it's necessary to have all four of those files on my root? I'm just making sure.

Hmm.... seems to me that you don't have the 'shell' folder in your root.

Ok, first things first. You have to install Moon Shell manually. Get the compressed archive from the official web, extract it and run the setup. Easy as pie.

Once you install it, you will have a binary (which is an .nds file in case you didn't know) and a folder called "moonshl" or "shell" or whatever depending on what version of Moon Shell you are using.

Next, rename the binary into _DS_MSHL.NDS, and put your skins into the skins folder in the shell folder.

Lastly, boot up your M3 Simply and select Multimedia to boot your moon shell.

Any questions? I'm more than sure you have a ton of them.

Thank you for responding to my post. Even though I thought I had followed the directions (from the tutorials floating around) it wasn't working correctly, but it's now skinning properly with the directions that you gave me. Thank you!!
