Major Update for DS Multimedia Player
Moonlight has surprised us with a new Moonshell beta release, in this case 2.00 Beta 6 with a large changelog (see below).
For those not in the know, Moonshell is a very full featured audio (many common formats), video (DPG format only), picture and text player/viewer.
The following is a crude translation of the Japanese changelog.
Pertaining to music playback.
Added support for WinAMP5 and WMP9 (check only) playlists.
Fixed a bug preventing playback of mp1/mp2.
NSF / GBS / HES / AY / SAP / KSS capabilities. (Top track only)
TTA was able to play.
M4A/AAC/WMA support enabled. (DRM free only)
MID/RCP/R36 support enabled.
Fixed a memory leak with the MOD plugin.
ID3Tag information and display play time for MP3 files.
Information and music files, fixed a bug that led to playing time.
MP3 performance improved.
Can now open the text and images and play music.
32bit sound processing now default and globally optimised in assembler.
M4A/AAC added the option to lessen startup delay at the cost of seeking.
Other related formats
Added support for progressive Jpeg files.
Can now open files up to 3648x2736 pixels (about 10 mega pixels) except for GIF.
Removed the capacity limit of a text file. (8MByte tested)
Adding a word processor.
Cleartype font (added in earlier betas) thickness can be adjusted.
UI features.
Fixed a bug with displaying invalid folders in the file list.
Now able to display the information in each file of the file list. (MP3, Jpeg, BMP, PSD, DPG only)
Add the option of display start position of the image. (Upper left / upper right / lower left / lower right)
R + A play that can create a playlist of all songs played in the folder.
L + R + A play that can create a playlist of all songs played on the disk.
L / R to display the online help for each button press.
Loading a text file that can be canceled with the B button.
To delete files press and hold START button for a period of time (it will attempt to move to a "recycle bin" if possible).
System
Japanese no longer used for file names in system folders.
Tweaked some settings to rely less upon the external memory.
Added support to use memory from GBA expansion cards, supported cards include the DS browser cartridge memory expansion, EZ 3in1 (whether this includes the plus is not stated), SuperCard (what models are supported is unknown). Not tested for other uses however.
Improved compatibility adapter to fix a fatal bug in the code to log file output.
Check added to external plug-in mechanism to detect abnormal memory access.
Required swap file size now autodetected to save disk space.
Fixed a fatal bug that may corrupt the directory entries when running extremely low on disc space.
Will attempt to not autoload plugins if they have failed to work properly already (presumed for that session only).
HTML version of the documentation included.
Fixed a bug with touch screen on some DS models by using an updated libnds-1.3.1. (more on this here http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=13170 )
DSTT in standard DLDI driver, SDHC to handle that correctly thanks to ???.
NoGBAMem.txt added bonus features.
Increase the types of screen savers, they can divert the user's background image.
Fixed a bug in parsing of options relating to ID3Tags.
