Sorry, false alarm. I took Moonlight's statement in the original e-mail quite literally, but after a little more elaboration I finally understood what was going on.

Check this post, it'll clear things up.

This is why I rarely ever start a topic

I was going to sit down and do a proper translation of the Moonshell 2 user guide when I realized that the change log is only updated through Beta 12, the last beta version before it went "stable." I was wondering why the change logs for v2.01~v2.05 had not been released, so I e-mailed Moonlight and asked if I could get an updated change log.

This was the reply I got.

I've had nothing to do with it since v2.00.
I stopped developing Moonshell because I was betrayed by Sakura. I'm sorry that I can't fulfill everyone's requests.
I guess that explains why there's no changelog after Beta 12.

If anyone remembers the M3 Sakura-Moonlight fiasco that happened last January, Moonlight announced that s/he would stop developing homebrew. Then not too long afterward, work on Moonshell 2 picked up again and everyone was happy about Moonlight's return.

As it turns out, Moonlight has had nothing to do with Moonshell 2 for quite some time. I knew that Moonlight stopped working with M3 Sakura, but I did not know that s/he had also quit the Moonshell 2 project permanently. I guess Moonlight was serious about it back in January.

So my question is, who is developing Moonshell 2 now? I'm guessing it might be M3 Sakura. It's implied in the e-mail since Moonlight stopped developing Moonshell in order to cut off all ties with Sakura. I sent another e-mail, so I'm hoping Moonlight will reply soon.

All this time I thought Moonlight had returned to the scene to work on Moonshell. Was I the only one who thought this? I apologize in advance if this isn't news to anyone else. I've been out of the loop, so much going on in real life.

Moonlight is the maker of moonshell 2.0, i have no doubt about this.

I and some others still help him in testing process. So ...

I know Moonlight created Moonshell (as does everyone else), but I'm wondering who's behind the release of the stable versions 2.01~2.05.

So why would Moonlight tell me that he stopped developing Moonshell?

Wow. Could be very hard to find all fixes done in every version.
I know some of them. Also Supercarte could provide some information about this.
I ask him in PM.

For now you can check his thread on supercard forum. This helps a lot! I don't understand French, but the automated translators online are more accurate when they translate from one Latin-based language to another Latin-based language. Thanks, Mbmax

I got another e-mail from Moonlight saying the following:
QUOTE??????????MoonShellStable???????????
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
???????????????????????????
I didn't explain properly. I did create Moonshell Stable.
However, I'm not feeling very ambitious, so I've been negligent in keeping track of the versions. I've made a lot of changes (on a whim), but I don't remember what they were.
I regret that I can't provide you with a change log.
I got thrown off because of that one statement about not developing Moonshell anymore because of the betrayal by Sakura.

Really sorry about the false alarm, everyone

If this makes up for anything, click here for the full e-mail. Moonlight mentions some of the changes made between v2.01~v2.05. Between this e-mail and the link Mbmax provided, I think I can come up with a complete, up-to-date change log in English.

At least something good came out of this thread
