Gaming Monster hunter Tri quest help

uuuhm yeah, so i'm doing the "capture a qurupeco" quest.

normally i don't really have problems with this since i find capturing easier than killing,
but now i do.

i'm hunting this angry bird and he starts doing calls for other monsters, a few jaggi pop in but i can handle those.

then a friggin rathian lands..... -.-
i prob know why, the description says that it can imitate other monsters.
so it prob imitates the ...(partner of rathian, forgot name)

i'm 18 hours in, don't even plan to go online yet, have rathalos armour and wield sword and shield(bone tomahawk)

i managed to hurt his head, run to camp and end via subquest

thoughts? maybe take these items, or wield this? ....halp

I did it, throw a dung bomb on the rathian and it flies away.

did it with a great jaggi though....

Yea, Dung bombs are the way to go! You prolly would not be able to take on the ian if you are just getting to that quest. I would hop online as it is way different and you can see ways others handle situations and monsters and learn from it.
