Will I have any troubles playing online off of a usb drive?
Nope. Make sure you have cios223[37+38] or ciosx rev 19 base 37 installed.
Hm, how do I find out which revision of 37 I have installed? I'm pretty sure I have 19 installed already..
Start NeoGamma and look on the bottom. It will say your ciosx rev19 base wad.
Theres a great homebrew program called Sanity checker, and will tell you everything installed ios's and revisions, etc.
I'm at work now so I can't use either of those right now. But if someone can give me an answer from this question, that'd be good. I had a 3.2 hacked wii (I think that was the firmware, it was a long while ago) and recently updated it to 4.2 with the sticky in the hacking section. It says this: "4] Install custom IOS 202, 222 & 223 [Hermes v4], 249 & 250 [Waninkoko v19] to your wii."
Can anyone tell me if any of these are the file I need for MH3, or if I will lose any other functionality by installing that 223 over this 223?
You either need IOS223 or IOS222 with base IOS38 merged with IOS37 (or IOS37 merged with IOS38 depending on which way you chose, both works) or you could use IOS249 base IOS37. I have tested all of the IOS's to compair loading speed and IOS249 loads at least 3 seconds faster then IOS222/223.
Will I lose any functionality installing IOS249 base IOS37 over waninkoko's 249 r19?
IOS249 is Waninkoko's rev19...
The only "downside" to using IOS249 base IOS37 is that you need to update your Wad Manager to V1.7. I have had no problems with it as base IOS37. It launches all the games (WiiFit Plus, MH3, etc).
