So I ripped this idea from a couple of the PSP boards I go to.
Basically, the idea is that we choose a game. (Can be done by a separate poll, or manual voting here) and trade friend codes. What we normally do are one of these two things:
Set up an organized tournament. (Ranks, brackets, etc. and normally we have a few "judge" positions. Ex) in JUS, you have someone log into the battle, suicide, and report on who wins/losses)
Just have a fun free-for-all play.

Anyways, If anyone is interested, let me know. Also, feel free to post games as recommendations. if we DO get enough people interested, we can vote on the game.

When we finally decide on the date, anybody can use this to convert.

(I live in U.S. Central time, Dallas, Texas will work for a conversion from my times)
(*Side note* The event doesn't necessarily have to be on a Monday)

The rules can always be formulated later. For now, I'd like at least 16 players (Trust me, any less and it's kinda lame) and we can start the planning. At 16+ people I'll start a poll with all the games.

This sounds like an amazing idea! But... timezones will be an issue. Is this for everyone or just Americans? Not discriminating, its just that organizing this would be hard to do if people are living in different countries...

OP, I suggest adding this link to your first post: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html

Thats the site my GW guild used when scheduling GvGs, hope this idea takes off...

Yeah, I agree. It should be Saturday Night Wi-Fi, as more people are online on weekends, and that obviously has effect on how many people participate.

Sounds good, I'll edit that into the first post, and brutalboy, I already mentioned that the day doesn't have to be Monday, in fact, It'll be on the most convenient day for everyone.

Well, it looks like it's going to be Mario Kart. The event should be held today @ 4:00 P.M. I believe that this time should be most appropriate for everyone involved. If anyone has trouble with the time, please speak now. Also, I will not be able to attend this time. Sorry, some plans happened, and my Saturday is booked, so I will be unable to judge.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
