If amazingly fast and explosive men have been the bane of your existence in Modern Warfare 2 as of late, then know that Activision's go-to guy, Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling, has got the hot scoops on a patch in the works to address the despised Javelin glitch. Version 1.06 of the game will not only do away with that awful bit of frustration, but will also address two other notable exploits in the multiplayer experience:

-Fixes the Javelin glitch (thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster!)
-Fixes unlimited care packages glitch
-Fixes areas where players could exploit geography (e.g. hide inside rocks in Afghan)

Bowling says the patch is currently in the hands of Microsoft for certification on Xbox 360 and presumably in Sony's for PS3 certification. We've contacted Bowling for more info and will update the post when we hear back.

Saw this on fourzerotwo's Twitter, glad to see the support they are showing for fixes and patches (For console versions anyway.) This glitch is really annoying but i normally just snipe them off before they get close to me.

You guys don't know how happy this makes me...Lol. I've stopped playing multiplayer (Unless it's with my friends), because the glitch is enough to make me stop, and it has obviously. Also, I lol'd at the Flying Spaghetti Monster part...Pastafarianism is funny.

The Javelin glitch is rare in the PS3 version (Only ever saw one person doing it, while several others claim never to have seen it), but I heard that it used to be common on the 360 version. Just recently though, Microsoft started banning whoever uses it, so it sort of died down a little.

For those who've never heard of it, the glitch is like Martyrdom. Instead of a frag grenade, it's the Javelin Missle, which means it has a wider range of explosion.

I think that was just a cheap scare tactic by ms
I know a few people who have been using it online since it was discovered and none have been banned yet

It's possible that the usage has increased around this time, since it was already announced shortly before the 1.05 update that a fix was coming. I still haven't seen that much people use it, but then again I haven't played online at all last week.
