is there a tray design or something?
You also need to take it apart to see which model it is, which you need to know.
don't forget the BenQ which is a lot more popular in the newer models now.
also this is a good reference site: http://www.360drives.com
What do i have?
soz about the blurry image
Haha, was going to say BenQ before Offtopic posted that link. Looks like I was beat.
Easiest drive to hack, imo.
EDIT: Where in Scotland are you from?
Hitachi is the easiest, every sata chipset can be used!
Ah, thanks for the pink offtopic.
I have a BENQ VAD6038 DVD drive
EDIT: Fuck, no modding for me
I thought it all depended on which version of the Hitachi drive you had. Getting into ModeB seems like a hassle to me.
I modded 2 kinds of Hitachi drives that needed seperate hacks, and they worked on my chipset.
What do you mean?
Have i got a BENQ drive? or not?
this is the year 2008 buddy! you're in luck!
BenQ Drives are the easiest to hack.
all you need is a PCI card from ebay that will cost about $10 posted.
You need a chip for some types of Hitachi drives.
You have a BenQ for sure. Just google "Textbook 360 Guide" and it's the very first link. Took me about 5 minutes to flash one of these for a friend
EDIT: Assuming you have a VIA sata chipset or Via 6421 PCI sata card in your PC.
