Hacking Modchip installation/operation guides?

I'm looking to get soldering on my old GC soon and would like to know about modchips. Today I found out that you have 'programmers' and cables and stuff.

Quite frankly I have no idea what I'm doing. But we all started out somewhere, therefore... I would like to know if anyone knows of a site or a guide for beginners.

Not being pedantic... I think you mean "predecessor", the Wii is the GC's successor.

I think the best place to post this would be the "Other Consoles" forum
