I think that pretty much all the current mods will give you those features.
Personally I would advise going with one of the open source mods. All the features you ask for without the price tag of other commercial chips.
Well there are a few different choices when building your own chip but I would suggest this one as you can run with Chiip or OpenWii on it.
Once you have built the chip the open source works by simply loading the software onto the chip and hooking it up to your Wii. You might also want to look at this site:
In all honesty if you are looking for a real quick solution just get a wiikey clone for like $10. Very very cheap way to mod your system. You'll be able to play all of your own region games and some imports.
i wouldnt advise getting a clone
The people advising against clones have no valid reason to tell you not to.
Lets see why...
- The chips used are the same (Atmega8L).
- The code loaded on the chip is identical, and as such the features are identical.
- WiiKey even stated they wont block clones from getting updates (because they can't).
Now lets see the benefits...
- The clones are exactly the same, and they're cheaper.
As for what I think the ideal chip is, I prefer Atmega running OpenWii, but to each his own.
all those supporting clones are assholes, because really they are supporting the downfall of startup companies. don't call us hypocrites either, because downloading music only brings down big business!
startup companies made to get games for free....mmm yeah who is robbing who really?
Are you serious? You do realize that 99%+ of mod chips are used for stealing, right? It's essentially an industry of theft.
of course it is. but from big companies, not the little guys. sure i would buy a game from indie developers. its the big guys i dont mind taking from.
I bought every game i have so far. i just ordered my wiikey. i have zelda tp, need for speed carbon, and wii sports. was thinking about red steel too!
I find it amusing when people with wiikey clones bash the wiikey team and mock the delayed updates.
GUESS WHAT? You're in the same boat! That team you hate to support is your only way to get updates. If updates work, but that can't be confirmed until it's out.
If they were smart they would get a wiifree and then they actually wouldn't be dependent on the developers. What a world, eh?
