how possible/feasible would it be to integrate the rumble hardware from, let's say, a DS rumble cart into the shell of the gameboy advance itself?

Find enough empty space, and tap into the cartridge connector's solder points?

Original GBA -- SP and Micro do change things a bit.

There is a bit of space in the GBA, even more so if you also combine it with a rechargable mod and snatch some space from the battery compartment.

There would be two approaches for rumble.

1) You kick it like the home shopping network staples of the late 90s/early 2000s and have a device that sits on the speakers and rumbles according to the sound it detects (dealer's choice as to whether you do high pass, low pass, volume threshold or something more exotic). Usually not very in game related and GBA games are worse than that for having properly mixed sound that volume might work but works on everything without any hacking.

2) You do it like a proper rumble setup, which means all of what 3 games and having to hack support in for more (which can be done https://gbatemp.net/threads/make-your-own-rumble-game-for-ez-flash-omega-definitive-edition.580909/ , might not be the same code though).

Might also need some transistors and diodes to take signals and tap power from elsewhere.

In either case whether I could cannibalise and existing thing or buy a random motor in and stick an off balance weight on the end I don't know.
