It is a little confusing, I agree. If "Don't relaunch OS" is set to ON, the console will not restart after the IOSU exploit happens and the CFW is launched. If "Don't relaunch OS" is set to OFF, the console will restart (and you can use the "Show Launch Image" option as well).

Theoretically, when the IOSU exploit happens, some parts of IOSU are supposed to be somewhat messed up, which could cause issues later on. Having IOSU restarted after the CFW is patched in prevents this from happening.

However, nobody has noticed any issues when they set their CFW to not restart IOSU, so really, the choice is up to you. Not relaunching the OS is faster because you're not waiting for it to restart.

However, if you do choose to restart, take note that HBL will have been unloaded, and you will have to reload it using the browser exploit or Haxchi.

I would just leave it as ON, unless you are worried about potential damage.

I need help. I accidentally broke mocha. I installed mocha with rednand and I tried to start crunchyroll without the sd card that contains mocha while in mocha. Well as you guessed it, the wii u crashed. now when I load mocha the music stops at the logo and freezes. I've tried formatting the card and putting everything back. help!

Since you've accepted that you need to reformat your SD card, put it in your PC,
    run diskpart
    list disk
    select disk
x (whichever one is your SD)
    clean
    exit

That will remove everything from the SD and you can start over. This time, carefully consider whether you really need redNAND.

Hi guys, im running mocha with redNAND, and every time i want to play a game or use the wii u i need to have the sd into it, how can i safely go from using mocha and the sd constantly to use haxchi and do the process buying one of the games and all that. I dont want to erase the content on the sd without knowing what i need to do. thanks

pd:i need to return the 64gb sd card that i borrowed, and im currently must have it on the wii u in order to play all the games that i already installed on usb hdd, i need to give the sd soon (in a couple of days) and i dont know what to do..
pd: i already browse the first 30 pages of this thread and i still dont get where to start and where to aim.

    Thanks again

This isn't actually custom firmware though, is it? Seems like it's just an app that applies OTF patches to the firmware.

I always wondered why we couldn't have cold boot method for this like haxchi.

You could just use the haxchi config to load mocha automatically, and change the xml to coldboot into haxchi. Taadaaa

Thank you for the reply. I ended up using a different method to get the same result. Also, yes, I feel that I do need to have redNAND. I'm not bricking my system because people love to bash this particular homebrew and your condescension in this matter is unwarranted nor needed.

I was neither bashing Mocha, nor the concept of redNAND. When I say "carefully consider", I mean just that. You clearly made a mistake that was only possible to make on redNAND, and it's the only problem you've had in four years that was sufficiently significant to warrant a post. So, how did redNAND help you in this case? Asking you to think about whether you really need it isn't being condescending. Rather, it's a recommendation backed by the evidence you presented.

Its possible to configure Haxchi to launch this.
@brienj would be the person to ask if you want a specific forwarder program.

First, is there a folder on your SD Card called Haxchi? And is there a file inside it called config.txt?
If so, open config.txt up in a text editor. If not, download an example config.txt from here and put it into the haxchi folder on the root of your SD Card (create it if it doesn't exist).

This file tells Haxchi what to do when it launches, depending in what button is pressed. By default (if no buttons are pressed) it will load and run the Homebrew Launcher from the SD Card. If A is pressed down, it will load and run an IOSU firmware image from the SD Card. And if the B button is pressed down, it will boot into its own little CFW.

Following this logic, if you add a line to it, for example,
    Code:
    x=wiiu/apps/mocha/mocha.elf
Mocha will then load if you hold X while booting Haxchi.

The last step (after saving the file and putting it on your SD Card if you haven't already) is re-running the Haxchi installer. This will update the configuration within Haxchi to match the one on your SD card, applying your configuration to run Mocha if X is pressed.

I have a question about Mocha. I run it on sysnand trough hbl everything is fine except one irritating thing:

If I launch HBL (webexploit) -> mocha everything is ok.
If I launch HBL -> mocha -> HBL (miimaker) wiiu freeze on black screen
If I launch HBL -> mocha -> HBL (channel) wiiu freeze

Is this normal? In other words I cannot launch HBL if mocha is loaded.

Sorry, not keeping up to date with the recent progress.
Can anyone sum up if there's any progress in terms of FAT32 support? Or if there was any since the first "release" of the support? Thanks in advance

Unfortunately the FAT32 build does not work for me at all.

    Here's what I did:
    https://gbatemp.net/threads/request-mocha-cfw-fat32-wup-installer-guide.471624/
    In short:
    1. Installing games to Wii U formatted USB stick
    2. Starting CFW + ftpiiu everywhere
    3. Connect to Wii U from a Windows PC (with WinSCP) where my FAT32 drive is connected
    4. Copy everything from Wii U \usb_storage\usr\ to my FAT32 drive (USB:\usr\) except the title folder as it would take ages
    5. Use Wii U USB Helper + CDecrypt to get code+content+meta for every installed game/update/dlc to put it in \title\ in the right folders (follow my thread link to see that I did it correctly)
    6. Turn off Wii U, disconnect Wii U formatted USB stick, connect FAT32 drive, turn on Wii U, launch the Mocha CFW FAT32 build

    This is what I get:
    IMG_20170524_002825.jpg

It takes forever to initialize/search the USB drive after launching Mocha CFW.
My guess is that it is not able to wake the drive but what annoys me is that it is able to wake it before I launch Mocha CFW as after a few seconds (it's a 5 TB drive) I get the "please format your drive" popup message.

Any guesses? Helping me would help everyone I guess. ;)
