When it devolves into a near crippling addiction, I am against them, and sadly in my experience with friends (both IRL and online) it seems like this happens more often than you'd think or hope. WoW has consumed more lives than I care to count, and it's worse (addiction wise) than Everquest was years ago. I've had friends drop out of school because they'd rather grind their Shammies than go to class. Seriously, wtf? It's a game. I have a life outside of gaming, but even when some of them do go out to say a party or out to eat, lord help the rest of us, because as someone else pointed out, that's all they want to talk about Nefarian this, and lag that, and Leroy Jenkins that.
