Hi there,

Is there any way to convert mkv files to dpg?
I usually watch animes on the DS while im "working" but most of these are in mkv format. It seems that nor BatchDGp nor Super aren't able deal with these file extensions.
Also, if theres any way to do it, how can i choose the wanted audio/subtitle chanel which i want to hear/see after converting.
So could some1 tell me which converter should i use, or if im lacking in any of the proper codecs pls?

Tnx forward,

hetyu

Here's something I wrote before that you might find helpful:

Here's a useful tip for mkv files (sub related) that I forgot to mention.
99% of the times, you can just configure Haali media splitter to show the proper subs without having to extract them with mkvtoolnix.
Just start Haali media splitter and go to options. I personally prefer to watch anime with their original voice and with english subs.
Go to 'Audio Language Priority' and in the value at the bottom.
Type in "jpn" without the quotations (or eng if you want english audio if available).

Then go to 'Subtitle Language Priority and type in "eng" in the value box.

Now whenever you use batchdpg to encode an mkv file, you will have japanese language along with english subs.

More info on packs etc can be found here:

I use mkv2vob then use dvdfab 5 to convert from vob to dpg

Having to do it in two steps suck, but I have not found a better way yet.

the first program is free and can be found googling. The second I found on the ol pirate bay.

If you have the proper codecs, then you should be able to convert MKV to DPG directly without the extra steps.
I'm even doing it right now with the series Yu Yu Hakusho.

*bump*

Allow me to ask 1 more question regarding to BatchDPG.

Everything works fine with the Haali media splitter , however, it wasn't able to one of my old problem.
The .dpg verion of movie has a really tiny problem with the subtitles, instead of the normal accentuated letters i have "?" where the ,í,é,ő,á etcetc should be.

Is this a codec problem or i have to deal with the thing that movies on the NDS dosen't supports accentuated letters?!

*bump* - i promise the last 1 here^^

- Can it be that the BatchDPG program uses oly english characters? This would answer my question.
And if it uses only english characters, any way to add more characters?

-Whats the latest/best working version of it atm?
