There seem to be a handful of dissatisfied people out there who don’t believe Nintendo should have included Circle Pads on the Wii U. IGN were certainly one of those organisations that believe Nintendo should think about replacing the Circle Pads with standardised analog sticks. Thankfully Shigeru Miyamoto has heard these opinions, and has commented on why he believes gamers shouldn’t fear the Circle Pad. Anyone still extremely worried about Nintendo replacing standard analog sticks with Circle Pads?[/p]

    +1 for circle pads c:
Nah, it'll be easy to get used to...
I hate that everyone doughts nintendo and then believe in them when they use a system for the first time, believe in them from the start people, I mean it's not like you know everything about creating a home console.

So...isn't that nice to hear. Except that I (and many others on this forum) weren't so much complaining about the presence of the circle pads but on the POSITIONING of them.

And I have all belief in that it's comfortable* to use and all, but it would be equally comfortable and more fit to other consoles (read: will take less time to readjust) if they moved those things to below the other buttons. You know...where PS3 and xbox360 gamers have used and relied on 'em for years?

*more precise: I'll take the word from ppl with first hand experience with it

I don't mind the circle pads but if that prevents from them being pressed as a button then multi platform ports that rely on the analog stick buttons on PS3/360 may not be as good!

It's more where they're positioned that bothers me.

Whatever, i have no respect for the new controller. First of all, IT'S HUGE! Second, It has a screen on it that mostly shows the exact same image on the TV screen, Expensive much? When the Wii U comes out, I'm sticking with Wii Remotes, way simpler, smaller, more cash in my wallet.

You somehow think you will be able to buy a wii u with no controller?

As much as I love Nintendo, the Wii U is just pissing me off so much. The more I hear about it, the less I care. Why can't the PSV and PS3 achieve the same thing? Oh, lower specs on the PS3? Uncharted 3 says hi.

Seriously though, why should I buy a Wii U at this point? For an HD Zelda? An HD Mario? Or perhaps Battlefield 3, which I could buy a year earlier and play it with one of two better controllers.

I like the IDEA of the screen - it's just the fact that it destroys the whole controller, and they can't work out that the circle pads should be placed UNDER the buttons that pisses me off.

Also, that you have to use Wiimotes to play otherwise...... it feels like the ultimate cheat. Sure, I hate buying loads of new controllers for a new console just to play multiplayer, but essentially, apart from one player, we're still going to have the limited Wiimote controls that we've always had with the Wii.

Oh, and "Wii U" is worse than "Playstation Vita"

Nintendo should have consulted some gamers before setting the position and shape for the controller.

The positioning of the circle pads look bad, but actually it isn't as bad as it seems.

But seriously, unless you have a Wii, the Wii U IMO is not really that worth getting, especially if it is more than $249.

I'd rather get a PS3/360 frankly speaking. Lesser strong but already has the stuff announced for Wii U, apart from a touch controller similar to the vita. [IMG]

I didn't really care about the circle pads or the positioning, I still like the controller.
