Missingno is a Gltch in Pokemon Red and Blue Version (Yellow does not have the same glitch, but it has its own to worry about.)

The form of Missigno was altered by the character's name. There are other variations, like "M'", "Glitchy Charizard", etc. And along with Missingno you can find level 200-275 Pokemon.

The glitch can be triggered by going and talking to the Old Man who teaches you how to catch Pokemon. He will do his demonstration. Then you IMMEDIATELY Fly to Cinnibar Island and surf the EAST coast of it (where it looks like shore).

You will find Pokemon from the Safari Zone at IMPOSSIBLE levels (100+) as well as this thing:

The funny part is he knows Water Gun two times and can learn Fly lol.

Glitch City is hard to explain so just check the Bulbapedia entry.

Actually, 255 is the maximum level (hex value FF), if you try to raise a pokemons level any higher with Rare Candies it reverts back to 100 I think.

    >_>

This is MORE complete than any other site... please don't be picky.

@ Arras: Yeah, that's why I said "100+" as in more than 100.

That is true, 255 is the maximum level. I found a level 177 missingno and level 255 magnemite (Weird) in Pokemon RED. I had one last rare candy, and used it on the magnemite (that knew the same moves as missingno, oddly) to find it reverted to a Magneton level 100 with a glitchy cry (All I hear is white noise for 2 seconds).

My elementary school days were full of the "MissingNo" glitch, using it to get infinite (more or less) rare candies and master balls.

    Now I feel old >_>

Haha, I actually think I still have the Nintendo Power issue where one of the "letters-to-the-magazine" entries was "ZOMG Why doesn't the MissingNo glitch work in Pokemon Yellow ALIESJFALSIGJALSIEFH"

The response was essentially "stop your cheating ways, you cheating cheater lololol"

Never actually did the Mew glitch myself, but then again I didn't own any handheld 'till the GBA so all of my experiences here are based off of borrowing the system from friends at the daycare center.

For my blue version I could actually get it to where I could fight processor oak (instead of missingno showing up) by walking a specific way.

If I ever get really bored I might recreate it on an emulator, or at least attempt to (or maybe I'll try if somebody gives me a completed save state with the S.S. Anne still in the harbor).

Of course he didn't say anything before or after the battle, and it happened like a wild battle so there was no overworld sprite... and his team had like, a missingno, flareon, and some other stiff...

I do want to get a vid of it. I know it's different than most other "fight processor oak" glitches I've seen.

Oh dear lord, what a coincidence. My last save file before I got bored was right before boarding the SS Anne. It's been years since I've played this file so I have no idea how leveled-up any of my Pokemon are, but there ya go.

    http://www.zumodrive.com/share/c0AJZTYzZj

Also :wtf: I never give nicknames to the Pokemon. WTF would I name a Nidoran "Spot"?

EDIT: Unless of course it matters whether it's Red vs. Blue, or if by "completed" you meant that the game was completed in its entirety while blacking out on the SS Anne so it stays in the harbor. In that case, my savefile isn't very helpful.

    Haha, "processor oak". XD

    I never nickname my pokemon.

I'll see if anybody else has a later save, I'm too busy to play through that much of the game right now.

Lol, I have a save of Blue with the SS Anne still at the harbor. I think I have one of Yellow too. I'll upload it tomorrow (later today? Since it's past midnight? lol.) I am going to sleep now.

Why do you need S.S. Anne to still be at the harbor?
There's a glitch that lets you board the S.S. Anne even when it left, you know.
