That really is a miracle for all of them to survive in that situation for 17 days. From the reports, they say it will take about 4 months (~120 days) to get them out. I don't know about anyone else, but even with necessities to survive that long to get out, I dunno if I could handle it psychologically if I were down there. How much area does a "small flat" cover?
Wow. 17 days? Thats a long time without, food, water and light :S I hope they all knew each other well.. or else some of em mustve gone insane in such a long period.
it would be funny if they got stuck for 17 days and realized that one of the guys had a phone (with reception)
If it had any battery life left
sad thing is, being from chile these guys probably wont get anywhere near as much as publicity as the australian miners a few years back.
I'm happy for them but even more happy for their families. I'm sure the waiting was very hard for them.
So, they'll be stuck in the mine for at least 137 days (The 17 days + the 4+ months)? Ouch.
