Minecraft With RTX - No Longer Just a Meme

It's official, Minecraft with Ray Tracing is now a reality and is coming soon. Nvidia just released a trailer showcasing the game comparing when RTX is On/Off. For those that don't know, ray tracing is a rendering technique that helps create much more realistic lighting in virtual environments. It essentially traces light all the way to objects in a setting, and uses advanced algorithms to determine how light interacts with objects and how they react visually. This feature is currently available only for PCs, and Nvidia GPU's in particular.
So now the real question is, can your PC run Minecraft?

I see, but the performance will differ, and there are definitely some differences, plus this is official and therefore easier to install with less hassle of bugs and such.

How so? Did Nvidia provide any clues as to what kind of graphics card you need? There has never been a side by side comparison of the two.

None so far as I know, it's just an assumption that Nvidia would do a better job at optimization as opposed to a fan made mod as they are more experienced with ray tracing. Only time will tell for certain.

all that's left is pokemon rtx, its a shame that Microsoft abandoned their previous graphics pack upgrade endeavor, hopefully it wont be the same with this.

Really? Did you watch the videos? I feel Nvidia's version looks much better, and more natural looking.

Natural looking yes, but the Minecraft textures just don’t go with it...

The Minecraft textures are much more detailed now as well. If that's the case, then the same could be said for SEUS.

EDIT: I admit there are some problems with Nvidia's version, but it's important to note that it isn't finished yet. SEUS on the other hand had around 8 renditions.

Unless you have an RTX 2060 card or higher, I doubt we'll be able to run it smoothly though.

Yeah, not everyone can afford high end graphics cards.

Most of humanity can not really afford the latest low-end graphics cards.
